Human Rights

Answering firsts questions: Human rights are the rights you have simply because you're human, rules that make humans equal. They were written in 1946 in Geneva by Eleanor Roosevelt in the Declaration of Human Rights. There are thirty human rights.

First of all I want to say that human rights are so important, but not all of them are into the law in spite of they should be THE LAW.

It's important to define what are Human Rights, well, Human rights are the rules that make human equal, they're moral principals. The rights you hav only because you are human. There are thirty human rights and they were created in Geneva in 1946, after the Second World War because a lot of people were killed, many children were without their father, their oncle or even orphans. Then, the ONU (United nations organization) were crearted and they believed that the human rights were essential to have a worthy life.

The human right I didn't know before doing this post was the number twenty. It says exactly this:

  Article 20.
    (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

                     (2) No one may be compelled to belong to an association.

Well.. It shocked me because to different of the others, I didn't know that it exists. I thought that it had been always done. But now I'm thinking on it and it's true that in the past it had been forbidden

We all shuld respect this thirty rights because they're the basis for a righteous life. Even here, in the first world there are rights that are broken by people and the government, I can't imagine how is the situation in the third world. We all should do something to change the situation.

Education is the key...

Well, we have to comment three sentences of the text, so I want to start strong with the title.

"Education is the key, School is the lock" I can't agree more with this sentence. Education is the key, yes because be an educated person make you proud, make you special and open your mind, expands your horizon and give you hope but, in spite of this, school in my point of view is a bad system, is a lock for your imagination, the open doors by the system are closed by the system.

"If you don't build your dreams, someone else will hire you to help build theirs."
Of course I'm agree with it. I always said the same thing with different words. What we have to do is fight for our dreams, for our goals, our future, not necessarily going to any university and doing a degree. There are other ways to follow our objectives we only have to choose one of them. Anyway is always better fight for your dreams than help others to achieve theirs.

"There is more than one way in this world to be an educated man" (or woman). You can be educated in more than one way, of course, university, masters or get a doctorate are ways to be an educated person but there are many more. You can have a degree and you may don't know how to speak in public so it's another way to be educated. In spite of this I have to say in our society seems like follow the system is the one and only way to be educated, you need a degree to do anything you want, any job, any plans of future is almost compulsory have gone to university.

We should learn from our mistakes and start to change our way to do things, to think because not all of us are into the majority, of course there are people who can be the worst student but he could be the best telling jokes or controling his own industry.

A soulmate for me

A soulmate is an special word, well I think that's a big word to say, in fact, an interesting word. People speak about that all the time. There're people who find their "soulmate" twice a month and it's not what is supposed to be, a soulmate has to be the only one, the exception between the others. He has to be special.

For me, a soulmate has to be absolutely different from me. He has to be calm and have patience with me because I can be a little stressing. He has to be full of energy to follow me because I never stay in home. He has to be able to deal with me, sometimes I can be untreatable. He has to be social with my friends. I don't believe in this type of things, I mean, the best person who could ever stay by your side is the same that stays with you in your worst times. ISomeone who could calm me with only one word when I'm furious. The best person for me would be one who knows everything about me, my faults and also my past.

Of course he should be a crazy person, with a good sense of humour and cheerful. In spite of that, the most important quality in a person for me is to be honest, without honesty is impossible to have a relationship. Surely everything would be better if he was generous and responsible; I always wanted someone who could take care of me.

However, even if he has all these qualities I couldn't tolerate that he was agressive or extremely jealous. Confidence matters for me, is one of the bases of a relationship.

Obviously, firs of all you have to keep an eye on him, then his looks are also important, so important in fact, you go to meet a person if you're interested in him.

Finally, tyhe way  he does everything is also important, I want to decide what we do together, not only be an accessory.

In conclusion, I don't want someone who wants to control me, I only want a person to share my best moments and build memories.

Different types of education.

Be educated in our society means have good marks in your exams and do the same as other people but with only one difference, you have to be better than other students, you have to be the best to be recognized by your teachers. Doesn't mind your life or your problems, people only give importance to the results, and the results that matter are marks.

On one hand obviously is important to be intelligent and know how you can be a better student, the best in your group, how you could have the highest mark. In the society we live it's the most important, our marks define who are us, our average grade decide if you're able to do what you want and if you can get the degree you want. In this system there are many students that don't pass their exams, then they're labeled as a troublemaker person, so finally they may not have same opportunities in the future.

On the other hand, I need to speak about other types of education like music, sports or social education. There are a lot of ways to be an educated people and in this issue, our society's not fair.  The system should consider these education types, because a person may be the best footballer or the best autonomous and the worst student. Someone could be amazing interacting with other people as a good seller and has an innate quality to do a certain job and at the same time be bad student. Someone could have passion for the dance, or the basketball or have a perfect voice to sing then they could be motivated for these things and be the bests there.

To conclude, society should change the system and make more opportunities for music, sport, electronic and all types of celebrities, education should be more differentiated and give more confidence to the talented people because they need to know they're as good as those people who have an average mark greater than a 9'5. Society has to take care about talented people so at the end, they will succeed in their life.

The earth of books.

I know is weird to say this but...
I always liked to read, I think that a good book is better than a good Play Station game, for example. In my opinion you can live the story that you're reading, you can catch the main character and imagine that the character and you are the same person, but you can do it only when you're reading because if you do it in the real life you can end up badly, because what happen in books is only a story, life however is more strange, there are more problems and usually a story without the typical happy ending.
I read a lot, sometimes because I want to do it without a reason, and sometimes because I need to forget everything in my life, so I go to my bedroom, I catch a book and I read hours. I can read a book in less than an afternoon if I like it.
Sometimes it's a problem because I have to do many things but I want to read and I think that I'll only read one or two hours and without realizing it, I spent the whole afternoon without doing nothing and with many work to do, so I need to control me.
Well... How you can see I'm totally different than others, they have a problem because they don't want to read nothing and I have a problem because I spent too many hours reading.

LONDON

Woho! The countdown's here, less than a month to go to London! I'm so excited and nervous because I've never been to London yet and I love this city.
I can't wait to disconnect for a few days so far from high school people, hey can be a little annoying and hating people who only think of themselves and don't treat people the way they should be treated.
Also, I need to do there because there is an important museum I've wanted to see for three years, so now is the time to make my dreams come true.
In addition, I'm a One Direction fan anf they're often in that city and they have recorded most of their official videos. I have a dream to coincide with at least one of them in the street.
I have to say that I'm also emotional about doing this trip because it will be travelling with Tizi and we speak about this travel all day and we have a lot of plans for those days.
I just want to pack up my suitcase very soon and enjoy!

Christmas

Those days were so strange for me, these were totally different from last years Christmas, I used to go to visit my family in Girona, but this year I had to stay at home and do financial home tasks because my father wasn't able to do them.
Well, I have to say that my "holidays" weren't really a break from my stress because I had to be worried about other things that may be more important than academic issues.
Despite my home issues, there were also good things during my Christmas days as I saw my best friend after three months without her by my side, because she was in Valencia. at her university doing a veterinary degree.
Also, I had a funny Christmas eve with my city friends. We went to one friend's house and did the last dinner all of us so we could say goodbye to the year together, and after that we went to a party and had a fun time!
At the end of my holidays, the "Magic Kings" day was exciting because I was with my little cousin and I gave here some Lacoste parfum.
Family moments are so important for me, because after all, family are the only people who stay by your side when you need it.

Childhood nightmares may point to looming health issues

Regular nightmares in childhood may be an early warning sign of psychotic disorders researchers in the UK warn.

Five  words I didn't know.

Thrashing limbs: pallissa a les extremitats
Heightened: intensificat
Assessed: avaluats
Boundaries: límit, frontera
Wakefulness: la vigília

Summary:
One study nightmares in childhood say that when a child trashing limbs while asleep, the risk to be something more serious is heightened.
They did a study more that 6000 children until 12 years old and they were assessed for psychotic experiences.
Parents have to be worried when the nightmares are persist because it can be a sign of a future mental illness.

Personal Opinion

Nightmares, Interesting topic. Everyone has had a nightmare in their life, so everyone can have their own opinion. Mine, is that nightmares has more importance than we thing because it's our unconscious  trying to communicate something to us. I think we should take more seriously this issues because its could mean important things that will be great to know.
Nightmares and also dreams are always different and always mean different things, some of them can be important for our health.

Self evaluation of my oral presentation

My notes:

Hello everybody, I’m going to introduce my research project presentation.
The topic is: the fashion of omegas.
First of all, I choose this topic because I thought it would be so interesting, current, special and obviously because I wanted to my research project related to biology,  It was the first thing I saw clearly.  I thought I would do it well because nutrition topics related to food always caught my attention.
Very briefly, my objectives were know more about omegas 3 and their benefits, know the degree of knowledge in our high school and do a comparison between the marketing of these products in different supermarkets and their price.
The project is divided into two big parts. The theoretical part and the fieldwork or practical part.
In the first part I explain what’s functional food, the different types, the ways to group them and the problems they tried to solve. In particular I explain what’s an omega and three different types: Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 with their types, their sources of consumer and obviously their benefits. In the end I spoke about the valid legislation about food in Catalonia and the valid legislation about products with omega 3.
In the second part, I’ve done the fieldwork part. In this I did a study of omega-3 products marketed, differentiating between DHA acid and EPA acid and I compared this products with the same product without omega 3. I did it studying the labels of the products. I compared the price between different food brands and also I compared the results between three different supermarkets. At the end, I had different conclusions, like that the most expensive supermarket is the same which has more omega 3 products and best labeled.
I also did a study between a sample of our high school students. I studied the knowledge about omegas 3 in the sample and the consumption of these products in their house. I get and compare the results and had conclusions, like that vast majority think they know what are these products and more than a half are wrong.

I had some problems in this project to find the information like the valid labeling legislation in Catalonia, unlike US here this information’s private but in US or Canada is public and easy to find.
Also I have to say that some supermarkets didn’t give me permission to take the information from label product so I couldn’t study it.
I think that’s also interesting to tell some “funny” things I saw when I did the research.
-       The first of them was the labeling, the vast majority of this type of products don’t obey the legislation although it’s one of the simplest in the world.
-       The industry exaggerates the benefits of this products until unexpected places and they have come to say that the consumption of the product "improves mood of the consumer" or slogans like “the new vitamin: omega 3” when omegas are fatty acids.
I only need to say that is better to consumption natural omega 3 than functional food, and the benefits are much higher.

Presentation (10%): I used a PDF to expose my oral presentation. The PDF contains some pictures divided into sections which I speak. It's a good way to support the oral presentation and don't forget any section.
Body language and eye contact (10%): I struggled to look at the people face while I talked, but I don't succeed in this point, paradoxically I think my body language is good.
Structure (10%): I had an index in my research project but it was quite long, so I had to sum it up. I started with a short introduction about my project. After that I spoke about my theoretical part, of course in general. Lately I told what I've done in the practical part. I also spoke about the problems I had while I was doing the project. To finish, I've done a short part of conclusions.
Content (35%): The content was taken from the research project, I know that's not the same but I can't be objective this time because I was working in this project almost a year.
Language (25%): I think that my language was good, I know I used too many specific words for my presentation, and the words were a little strange for some people, but my project's in the field ob biology and these were the words that people use. I think I used phrasal verbs and I also think I tried to put one or two idioms, but I don't remember it.
Pronunciation (10%):  I think my pronunciation wasn't bad, despite that it's either quite good. I'm aware that I've so much to improve and learn.
Final Mark: I think that a good mark for me will be an 8'5
